Bega Valley Shire Council is offering an Engineer Cadet position within its Emerging Talent Program. You will undertake an undergraduate Engineering (Honours) degree while gaining hands-on experience across Works and Projects, Water and Sewer Services, Asset Management, Design and Technical Services.

The role supports structured learning, mentoring, and a broad exposure to local government infrastructure, with paid study leave and course fee funding. Travel and residential blocks may be required.

Qualifications

• Interest in engineering, infrastructure, science or related technical disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite.
• Analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Desire to learn and apply academic knowledge in practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage priorities.

Responsabilités

• Assist in delivering engineering services across project management, asset management, design and technical services.
• Assist with planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of engineering projects and programs.
• Develop practical skills in data analysis, investigations, reporting, surveying, site inspections and documentation.
• Contribute to compliant delivery of services with statutory requirements and council procedures.
• Apply university learning in a practical environment to build engineering skills.
