Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health & Community Services in Canberra seeks Intensive Family Support Workers for the Connected Beginnings Program. You will work with families to build skills, support routines, budgeting and nutrition, and connect them to local services.

The role is a 1-year fixed-term full-time contract (Mon-Fri, 9:00–5:00). Applicants with experience delivering culturally safe, community-led support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families are encouraged to apply.

Formación

• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, families and communities.
• Strong commitment to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and community.
• Ability to work in partnership with families and other staff in an empowering and collaborative way.

Responsabilidades

• Focus on parental capacity building.
• Help families develop the skills and knowledge needed to create a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment for their children.
• Guide parents in building confidence and skills in caring for their children.
• Assist families with budgeting exercises to improve financial stability.
• Teach meal preparation and nutrition to encourage healthy eating habits.
• Support parents in establishing routines and family structures.
• Help families set and achieve meaningful goals based on their needs.
• Connect families with local services and resources.
• Work independently under supervision while being part of a supportive team.
