Job summary

Kirinari Community Services seeks an experienced Disability Support Worker to join a skilled team delivering complex supports across community, respite and day programs.

You will support people with complex disabilities using person-centred care, documentation and behaviour support plans in community settings. A proactive, reliable and compassionate approach is essential to build trust and meaningful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with complex disabilities or behaviours of concern (as required).
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Driver Licence.
• Australian Working Rights.
• Ability to follow Behaviour Support Plans and procedures.
• Experience with personal care, medication support and manual handling.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Commitment to customer-specific training and buddy shifts.

Responsibilities

• Participate safely in community and respite activities.
• Provide personal care with dignity and respect.
• Build confidence through predictable, consistent support.
• Access meaningful activities and experiences.
• Exercise choice, control and independence wherever possible.
• Follow Behaviour Support Plans and proactive strategies.
• Recognise triggers and early signs of escalation.
• Provide medication support in line with procedures.
• Complete safe transfers and manual handling tasks.
• Complete accurate documentation and progress notes.
• Follow customer-specific support plans and training requirements.
