Optiver in Sydney offers a Summer Quantitative Research Internship that immerses you in data-driven problems across our trading models. You’ll work with mentors and experts to refine algorithms and apply quantitative methods to real-world markets.

During 8 weeks, you’ll attend lectures, complete hands-on projects, and may receive an offer to return as a Graduate Quantitative Researcher. This role suits penultimate-year students with a strong math/CS background and programming experience.

Qualifications

• Penultimate-year student pursuing a quantitative or technical degree.
• Programming experience in C/C++, Python and Java.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Work with mentors to develop and refine trading models.
• Apply statistical methods and ML techniques to real-world datasets.
• Participate in lectures, coursework and hands-on projects.
