Job summary

Optiver in Sydney is seeking a Quantitative Research Intern to spend an 8-week summer delving into data-driven problems. You’ll be mentored by experts and work on pricing engines, trading strategies and high-performance implementations.

You’ll attend lectures, complete coursework, and join a research team to apply your knowledge to real-world scenarios and potentially receive an offer to return as a Graduate Quantitative Researcher.

Qualifications

• Must be a penultimate year student pursuing a quantitative or technically focused degree.
• Demonstrated programming ability in any language (C, C++, Python, Java, etc.).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with interest in finance/markets.

Responsibilities

• Participate in lectures and coursework on trading fundamentals and quantitative methods.
• Join a research team and apply learned concepts to real-world trading scenarios.
• Develop and test models for pricing, strategies and market analysis.
