Job summary

Momentum Consulting is seeking an experienced Repair Technician to diagnose, repair and test a range of electronic products based in Homebush. You will work hands-on with PCB and battery systems, perform firmware reflashing and ensure safety standards are met.

The role requires a certificate or diploma in electronics or related field and prior experience repairing consumer electronics or robotic vacuum cleaners is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing consumer electronics or robotics preferred.
• Hands-on diagnostic and repair skills across electronic modules.
• Knowledge of PCB power management and sensor systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and test a range of electronic products.
• Understand main board (PCB) functions and power management.
• Work with Li-ion battery systems and charging circuits.
• Diagnose components such as motors and sensors and perform repairs.
• Apply safe handling practices and follow ESD protocols.
• Perform firmware updates and reflashing as required.
• Maintain repair logs and update service systems.
• Communicate findings clearly to supervisors and teams.

About the Role

As a Repair Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and testing a range of electronic products.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand main board (PCB) functions, including power management and communication modules
• Work with Li-ion battery systems, charging circuits, and apply safe handling practices
• Diagnose and repair components such as drive motors, brush motors, and suction fans
• Interpret and troubleshoot sensor systems (LDS/LiDAR, infrared, cliff and bump sensors)
• Identify and resolve common faults and recurring issues
• Use multimeters and basic diagnostic tools effectively
• Perform firmware updates and reflashing
• Conduct functional testing post-repair to ensure quality outcomes
• Maintain accurate repair logs and update service systems
• Communicate technical findings clearly to supervisors and support teams
• Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols and workplace safety standards

About You

Qualifications (Preferred but not essential)

• Certificate or Diploma in:
  • Electronics
  • Mechatronics
  • Electrical Engineering

Experience

• Experience repairing:
  • Robotic vacuum cleaners (highly regarded)
  • Home appliances or consumer electronics
