Job summary

Clevertronics, a global leader in emergency lighting, seeks an Electronics Engineer to design, develop, test and deploy robust hardware and embedded firmware for lighting products. You will ensure reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance, working with cross-functional teams and managing project milestones.

Join a team focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement, reporting to the Electronics Lead at the Scoresby head office in Melbourne.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Electronics or equivalent.
• Strong power electronics knowledge incl. SMPS, inverters, battery chargers and LED drivers.
• Solid understanding of Power Factor Correction and Harmonics suppression.
• Experience designing discrete DC-DC converters.
• Knowledge of EMC compatibility and electrical safety requirements.
• Practical PCB layout experience.
• Embedded C firmware development (e.g., Microchip PIC XC8).
• Experience using Jira, Teamwork or MS Project for schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of firmware and hardware for General/Emergency lighting, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Develop hardware and firmware aligned with product architecture and performance goals.
• Lead and manage projects, planning and tracking progress.
• Translate customer needs into technical specs and design requirements.
• Develop testing procedures for firmware and hardware; validate reliability and quality.
• Identify process improvements and implement best practices for product quality.
• Ensure EMC compliance, electrical safety, and regulatory standards.
