Job summary

MV Automatic & Security System Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking an Electronic Equipment Trades Worker to install, commission, test, maintain and repair gate automation, electronic control systems, access control units and CCTV hardware across residential and commercial sites.

You will interpret schematics, follow WHS standards, and work with our technical team to deliver safe, reliable installations while supporting clients with basic operation guidance.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III/IV in Electronics, Security Equipment, or related trade qualification is required.
• 1–2+ years hands-on experience installing, maintaining, or testing electronic control systems and automation equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in electronic circuits, wiring, low-voltage systems and safety sensors.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain electronic gate automation systems including sliding, swing, boom gates and automatic doors.
• Test, diagnose, and repair faults in electronic circuit boards, sensors, loop detectors, power supplies and control units.
• Set up and integrate access control hardware, card readers, keypads, and digital CCTV systems.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and schematics to ensure correct assembly and installation.
• Instruct clients on operation and basic maintenance to prevent malfunctions.
• Conduct routine servicing and emergency repairs across Sydney sites while following WHS standards.

You will work closely with ourtechnical team to deliver reliable, safe, and efficient installations while diagnosing and resolving complexelectronic circuit and mechanical control issues.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Install, commission, and maintain electronic gate automation systems (sliding gates, swing gates,boom gates, automatic doors, and barrier controls). Test, diagnose, and repair faults in electronic circuit boards, sensors, loop detectors, power supplies,safety beams, wireless keyfobs, and control units. Set up and integrate access control hardware, card reader systems, keypads, and digital IP CCTVvideo surveillance equipment. Apply electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles to safely troubleshoot and commissionelectronic control systems. Interpret technical wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer specifications to ensure accurateassembly and installation. Instruct clients on the correct operation and basic maintenance of installed electronic equipment toprevent malfunctions. Conduct routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and emergency repair work across various jobsites in the Sydney metropolitan area. Ensure all installations and maintenance tasks comply with relevant Work Health and Safety (WHS)standards, electrical regulations, and trade guidelines.WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR AQF Certificate III / IV in Electronics and Communications, Security Equipment, or a related tradequalification (or equivalent experience). At least 1 to 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience installing, maintaining, or testing electroniccontrol systems and automation equipment. Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in electronic circuits, wiring, low-voltage systems, andsafety sensors. Ability to read, interpret, and execute work from technical schematics and circuit diagrams. Valid Driver’s Licence for site visits across Sydney. NSW Security Licence (or eligibility to obtain one following standard background checks) is preferred.
