Job summary

CEA Technologies in Canberra is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our Small Assembly team. You will build and assemble products per assembly packs and drawings, including prototype units, and perform basic to intermediate soldering under IPC610.

You will read mechanical and electrical drawings, assemble cables, test finished products, and record results while contributing to team knowledge, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience assembling electronic products per assembly packs and drawings
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Able to obtain AGSVA Negative Vetting 1 clearance
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Assemble a range of electronic products in accordance with assembly packs and drawings
  • Assemble prototype products under minimal supervision and mark drawings/cable sheets to reflect changes
  • Assemble a range of cables in accordance with cable assembly instructions
  • Carry out basic-intermediate soldering tasks to the IPC610 requirements
  • Conduct product tests as specified including operating test equipment
  • Collect and record test results accurately and provide quality statistics as required
  • Participate in team activities, skills training and resource discussions
  • Other production tasks as directed and within individual abilities

The Position

Are you experienced with interested in assembling electronic components? We are searching for someone to assist in an integral stage of our production process as an Electro-Mechanical Assembler, within our diverse and exciting Small Assembly team.

As the Electro-Mechanical Assembler you will build and assemble products and mechanical items as per assembly packs in accordance with specified standards and quality systems.

Our ideal candidate is adaptable, and a team player who will demonstrate high standards of workmanship and take pride in their work. You will be a "tinkerer" who enjoys making things or a proactive problem solver who thinks beyond the square.

Our Ideal Candidate:
  • Sound hand-eye coordination and dexterity, including ability to manipulate tools under microscope.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of hand tools.
  • Demonstrated skills/ ability to develop skills in hand soldering.
  • Demonstrated sound mechanical assembly skills with ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings /schematics.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Proven strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus on tasks.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Negative Vetting 1
