Looking for more variety, new challenges and the opportunity to build your skills across different industries?
At First Nations Energy Group (FNEG), we're growing, and we're looking for a qualified electrician to grow with us.
We're a proudly 100% Indigenous-owned Australian business bringing together expertise across electrical, engineering, industrial services, power generation and renewable energy.
With increasing project demands and exciting opportunities ahead, we're expanding our team and creating an additional position for an electrician who wants to develop their experience, take on new challenges and be part of a growing business.
This is your opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects, build on your existing electrical skills and gain exposure to different technologies and industries.
From industrial electrical work and renewable energy to generators, battery systems and regional and interstate projects, there's plenty of variety and opportunities to broaden your experience.
You don't need decades of experience. We're looking for the right attitude, a solid electrical foundation and the enthusiasm to learn, contribute and grow.
This is a hands-on, varied electrical role combining local work with regional, remote and interstate project assignments.
You'll work across different projects and environments, gaining exposure to a broad range of electrical applications as our business continues to expand.
60% local work: Primarily Brisbane and surrounding areas, involving a flexible mix of industrial, renewable energy and other electrical projects.
40% away work: Regional, remote and project-based assignments across Australia, including Toowoomba, Chinchilla, Surat and other locations as business and project requirements evolve.
The mix of work, locations and responsibilities may change as our business grows and operational requirements develop.
When undertaking extended away work, the typical arrangement is approximately two weeks away followed by one week off.
You’ll need to be comfortable travelling and staying away from home for up to two weeks at a time. Travel frequency, project schedules and roster arrangements will depend on operational requirements.
You’ll be involved in a variety of electrical projects, with opportunities to develop your skills and experience along the way.
Your responsibilities may include:
Industrial electrical installation, maintenance, fault finding and repairs.
Electrical work across renewable energy and other energy-related projects.
Assisting with generator installation, servicing and maintenance.
Supporting battery energy storage systems and related electrical infrastructure.
Assisting with electrical testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical documentation.
Working alongside electricians, engineers and project teams to deliver quality outcomes.
Developing your practical skills across different equipment, systems and project environments.
Maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and compliance.
We’re interested in electricians who have a solid foundation, a willingness to learn and the flexibility to work across different projects and locations.
Current Queensland electrical mechanic licence or equivalent Australian-recognised electrical licence.
Ideally 1–5 years of post‑qualification electrical industry experience.
Some exposure to industrial electrical work.
A genuine interest in expanding your technical skills and experience.
A positive attitude, reliability and a willingness to get involved.
Good practical problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
A commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently when required and as part of a team.
Physically fit and able to safely lift and handle loads of up to 20 kg on a regular basis as required by the role.
Willingness and ability to travel and stay away for up to two weeks at a time.
Current driver’s licence.
Ability to successfully complete and pass a National Police Check.
Industrial electrical experience.
Exposure to generators or power generation systems.
Some experience with battery systems or renewable energy.
Exposure to electrical testing, commissioning or industrial controls.
Experience working on regional, remote or interstate projects.
Generator and battery experience are preferred but not essential. We’re open to candidates with transferable skills and the enthusiasm to develop new capabilities.
This is a newly created role driven by increasing business demands. You’ll be joining an expanding team at a stage where there’s room to develop your skills, gain experience and contribute to new opportunities.
Build experience across industrial electrical, renewable energy, generators, battery systems and other electrical projects. Rather than being restricted to one type of work, you’ll have the chance to explore different technologies and working environments.
Broaden your technical knowledge and gain exposure to areas that can help shape your future career. As our project requirements evolve, so will the opportunities to develop your experience.
FNEG brings together electrical, engineering and industrial capabilities to deliver connected energy and infrastructure solutions. You'll be part of a growing Australian business with diverse operations and opportunities to contribute across different areas.

We're proud of our identity and our contribution to Australia's energy and industrial sectors. Our focus is on building capability, creating opportunities and delivering solutions that support Australia's energy future.
If you're a qualified electrician with a few years of experience and you're ready to take on new challenges, expand your skills and join a growing Australian business, we'd love to hear from you.
