Job summary

Whitehouse Group Qld Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our Blackwater operations in Queensland. This on‑site, full‑time role focuses on leading electrical maintenance in the mining and resources sector, ensuring safety, reliability and compliance with industry standards.

You will plan and supervise maintenance, mentor a diverse team and liaise with management to coordinate critical asset care.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical trade qualification (Certificate III or higher) in Electrotechnology.
• Current electrical license appropriate to the role (e.g., Electrician).
• Minimum 5 years of electrical maintenance experience, ideally in mining/resources.
• Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and industrial control equipment.
• Excellent understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations (AS/NZS 3000).
• Competency in hazard identification and risk management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead a diverse team.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments with multiple priorities.
• Experience with CMMS is advantageous.
• Valid Driver's license; Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical.

About the role:

Whitehouse Group Qld Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join our operations team in Blackwater, Queensland. This is a full-time position based on-site in the mining and resources sector. As Electrical Supervisor, you will play a crucial leadership role within our infrastructure and services division. This position is instrumental in ensuring compliance with industry standards and maintaining fixed asset reliability.

7 on, 7 off dayshift-only roster

Role would suit those willing to DIDO, or living locally. FIFO is not available

Key responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the work of electrical maintenance tradespeople and trades assistants

Plan, schedule and oversee electrical maintenance activities, inspections and repairs

Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety standards, regulations and company policies

Monitor and maintain electrical equipment, including switchgear, transformers, motors and control systems

Conduct daily pre-starts

Investigate electrical faults and coordinate troubleshooting to minimise downtime

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections and equipment performance

Liaise with management regarding electrical system status and planned maintenance

Mentor and develop electrical staff, providing on-the-job training and guidance

Ensure compliance with incident reporting and hazard management procedures

What we're looking for:

A recognised electrical trade qualification (Certificate III or higher in Electrotechnology or equivalent)

Current electrical license appropriate to the role (e.g., Electrician or Electrical Fitter)

Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within the mining or resources industry

Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, motors and industrial control equipment

Excellent understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations, including AS/NZS 3000 and relevant mining safety legislation

Competency in hazard identification and risk management

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and mentor a diverse team

Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities

Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) is advantageous

Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical

Driver's licence
