Whitehouse Group Qld Pty Ltd – Blackwater QLD is seeking a Civil Project Supervisor to oversee safe, compliant delivery of civil construction projects across mining and non-mining environments in Queensland. The role covers supervision of crews, subcontractors, plant use, QA, client liaison and reporting.

You will manage earthworks, roadworks, drainage, and infrastructure works, while ensuring schedule adherence, budget control and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in civil construction.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate project personnel and subcontractors
• Lead and mentor Leading Hands and Step-Up Supervisors and project crews
• Establish clear expectations regarding safety, productivity and quality
• Demonstrate visible safety leadership
• Monitor workforce performance and address issues promptly
• Promote teamwork, accountability and professional conduct
• Develop daily, weekly and project work plans
• Coordinate labour, plant, equipment, materials and subcontractors
• Review project documentation, including drawings, specifications and schedules
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, safety requirements and quality standards
• Identify potential risks and constraints
• Ensure compliance with legislation and site requirements
• Implement practical construction methodologies
• Monitor project milestones and delivery targets
• Build and maintain effective client relationships
• Provide regular updates to management regarding project status, risks and opportunities

Whitehouse Group Qld Pty Ltd – Blackwater QLD

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise and coordinate the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of civil construction projects across a diverse range of mining and non-mining environments.

The Civil Project Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of project activities, including workforce supervision, subcontractor coordination, plant and equipment utilisation, quality assurance, client liaison and project reporting. The role ensures that projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Projects may include mine site civil infrastructure works, haul roads and access roads, bulk earthworks, road construction and maintenance, drainage and stormwater systems, trenching and underground services, culverts and water management structures, concrete structures, footpaths, kerb and channel, subdivision and land development works, industrial and commercial civil construction, environmental and rehabilitation projects, and local government infrastructure projects.

The position operates across multiple projects and locations throughout Queensland (mainly within the Blackwater and Central Queensland areas) and requires flexibility to respond to varying client, operational and project demands.

Permanent full-time role

Variety of rosters to suit project requirements, including 7:7 dayshift-only roster

Role would suit those willing to DIDO, or living locally. FIFO is not available

Key responsibilities:

In conjunction with the Project Manager / Construction Manager, you will:

• Supervise and coordinate project personnel and subcontractors
• Supervise delivery of earthworks, roadworks, drainage infrastructure, underground services, concrete structures, environmental works, rehabilitation projects, mining infrastructure works and general civil construction works
• Lead and mentor Leading Hands and Step-Up Supervisors and project crews
• Establish clear expectations regarding safety, productivity and quality
• Demonstrate visible safety leadership
• Monitor workforce performance and address issues promptly
• Promote teamwork, accountability and professional conduct
• Develop daily, weekly and project work plans
• Coordinate labour, plant, equipment, materials and subcontractors

About you:

• Australian resident or equivalent or holding a visa allowing employment in Australia
• Queensland Driver Licence (HR desirable)
• Standard 11 Generic Surface Mining Induction
• Coal Board Medical
• Construction Induction (White Card)
• G1/G2/G8/G9 (or S1/S2/S3 + G2)
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in civil construction
• Demonstrated experience supervising multiple crews and subcontractors
• Experience delivering projects within mining and/or civil construction environments
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methodologies and sequencing
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Highly desirable: Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision
