Qualifications

• Trade certificate in Electrical and current electrical licence.
• Experience with site electrical infrastructure and fixed plant.
• Current Coal Mining Electrical Competency or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• HV switching, isolation and access permits per site procedures.
• Maintenance and fault finding on reticulation, substations, transformers and switchrooms.
• Trailing cable installation, repair and testing.
• Fixed plant electrical maintenance including CHPP, conveyors and pumps.
• Protection relay testing, breaker maintenance and cable testing.
• Motor, starter and VSD maintenance and fault finding.
• Statutory inspections, testing and compliance record-keeping.

The role covers site electrical infrastructure, high voltage reticulation and fixed plant maintenance, working as part of the site electrical team.

The role

• Permanent full time position with staff conditions
• Salary package plus superannuation
• 7/7 Roster
• Drive or Bus from Mackay or Townsville
• Camp accommodation, meals and site transport provided
• Annual leave, sick leave and ongoing training support

Responsibilities

• HV switching, isolation and access permits in line with site electrical procedures
• Maintenance and fault finding on reticulation, substations, transformers and switchrooms
• Trailing cable installation, repair and testing
• Fixed plant electrical maintenance including CHPP, conveyors and pumps
• Protection relay testing, breaker maintenance and cable testing
• Motor, starter and VSD maintenance and fault finding

• Compliance with the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and Regulation

Requirements

• Trade certificate in Electrical (AQF Cert III) and a current Electrical Licence
• HV Switching and Access Authority, current or able to obtain
• Queensland Coal Mining Electrical Competency, or equivalent from another jurisdiction
• Experience with site electrical infrastructure and fixed plant
• Coal Board Medical, current or willing to obtain
• Standard 11 Generic Induction, current or willing to obtain
• Current C class driver's licence
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screen
• Experience as an appointed HV Switching Operator or Coordinator
• Protection and relay testing experience
• CHPP or wash plant experience
• PLC, SCADA or instrumentation exposure
• Working at Heights, Confined Space or EWP tickets
• ERZ Controller or Electrical Supervisor competencies
