Job summary

CAE Inc. is recruiting an Instructor for its Navy Defence team in Richmond, Australia, delivering hands-on training across classroom, simulator, and blended learning environments to prepare Defence personnel for critical operations.

With an electrical or electronics trade background (and ideally Navy experience), you will develop, facilitate, assess, and update courses while supporting trainee progress and maintaining training materials.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in electrical/electronics or related technical discipline.
• Navy experience highly regarded, ideally within Royal Australian Navy.
• Defence, military, or technical training experience preferred.
• TAE40116/TAE40122 Certificate IV Training and Assessment or willingness to obtain.
• Eligible for Australian Defence Security Clearance and Australian citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led, blended, and simulator-based training programs for Defence personnel.
• Prepare, facilitate, assess, and complete post-course administration activities.
• Monitor trainee progress and provide feedback to support development.
• Maintain and improve training materials and course content.
• Collaborate with Defence customers to ensure high-quality training outcomes.

Role Overview

Join CAE's Navy Defence team as an Instructor, delivering technical training that helps prepare Defence personnel for critical operations. This is a hands‑on role where you'll use your trade and technical expertise to facilitate engaging learning experiences across classroom, simulator, and blended learning environments. Prior Navy experience is highly regarded, although candidates from broader Defence and trade backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Description

Deliver instructor‑led, blended, and simulator‑based training programs for Defence personnel. Prepare, facilitate, assess, and complete post‑course administration activities. Support trainee development by monitoring progress and providing feedback. Use your technical expertise to maintain and improve training materials and course content. Work closely with Defence customers to ensure high‑quality training outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Trade qualification in an electrical, electronics, or related technical discipline.
• Previous Navy experience highly regarded, ideally within the Royal Australian Navy.
• Defence, military, or technical training experience preferred.
• Cert IV Training and Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122) or willingness to obtain.
• Must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and therefore be an Australian Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Navy technical instructor experience.
• Experience delivering training in a Defence environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Background working with electrical or electronic systems.
