Job summary

Unified Energy Services in South Melbourne is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer – Solar PV & BESS to join our renewable energy team. In this full-time role you will design and deliver commercial and residential solar PV and battery storage projects, including system sizing, layout drawings, and grid connection considerations, collaborating with operations, project and sales teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–4 years' Solar PV and/or BESS experience in Australia.
• SAA Grid Connected PV Design and/or Battery Storage Design accreditation preferred
• Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 5033, AS/NZS 4777 and AS/NZS 5139
• Experience with solar PV and battery storage systems
• Experience with AutoCAD and solar design software
• Good understanding of DNSP grid connection requirements
• Strong technical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Exposure to diverse range of commercial and residential Solar PV and BESS projects

Responsibilities

• Design and review Solar PV and BESS systems, including SLDs, layouts and technical documentation
• Support DNSP and grid connection applications and requirements
• Provide technical input to project, installation and sales teams
• Support pre-sales technical enquiries, system sizing and solution selection
• Review inverter, battery, switchboard and electrical requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across design and project delivery
• Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, SAA requirements and network requirements
