Job summary

My Energy Group is seeking an experienced Solar PV + Battery Designer to join our Sydney team. You will design solar PV and battery storage systems for commercial and industrial sites, and perform site visits to gather information for accurate designs and project delivery.

You will produce detailed drawings and electrical schematics with AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope, collaborate with sales and installers, and ensure compliance with relevant codes.

Qualifications

• A degree in electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2+ years of solar PV design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst and Helioscope.
• SAA accredited Solar designer and BESS licence.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer solar PV and battery storage systems for commercial and industrial projects.
• Perform system sizing, energy yield analysis, and financial modelling.
• Create single-line diagrams and electrical schematics using industry software.
• Conduct site visits to collect measurements, shading analysis, and conditions.
• Coordinate with sales, installation teams, and external contractors.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Maintain project documentation and provide progress updates.
• Assist in proposals, quotations and tender submissions.
