Job summary

Stralis Energy Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager / Supervisor for the New England Solar Farm Stage 1 near Uralla, NSW. This casual role focuses on leading DC-side electrical construction and commissioning activities, from first energisation through to handover.

You will supervise electrical crews, ensure AS/NZS standards compliance, manage ITR/ITC processes, and maintain safety and quality on a landmark renewable project in the New England region.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Electrician with current Australian licence.
• Strong DC electrical experience on utility-scale solar projects.
• Experience managing ITR/ITC commissioning on solar farms.
• Experience in construction management or supervision on renewable energy projects.
• Knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 5033.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical construction and commissioning on site from energisation to handover.
• Supervise DC-side installation, wiring, and earthing.
• Plan and sign off commissioning, ITRs and ITCs to standards.
• Oversee quality control and defect rectification before handover.
• Read electrical drawings and cable schedules to direct works.
• Enforce WHS requirements (JSAs, SWMS, toolbox talks).
• Coordinate with site management and other trades.
• Support pre-commissioning testing including insulation resistance tests.

Electrical Construction Manager / Supervisor - New England Solar Farm

Stralis Energy are looking for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager / Supervisor to join us on a casual basis at New England Solar Farm Stage 1, located near Uralla in the New England region of NSW - one of Australia's largest operating solar assets, with approximately 400MWac of generation capacity.

About the role

Reporting into the Stralis project team, you'll take the lead on electrical construction and commissioning activities across the site, with a strong focus on DC-side works. This is a hands-on supervisory role suited to someone who knows solar farm electrical systems inside out and can run a commissioning program from first energisation through to handover.

Supervising and coordinating electrical construction crews carrying out DC-side installation, termination and rectification works, including string wiring, combiner boxes, DC cabling and earthing

Planning, running and signing off commissioning activities, including completion of ITRs (Inspection & Test Records) and ITCs (Inspection & Test Certificates) to project specification and relevant AS/NZS standards

Overseeing quality control, defect identification and rectification prior to system handover

Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, single line diagrams and cable schedules to direct site works

Enforcing site safety requirements - JSAs, SWMS, toolbox talks and general WHS compliance

Liaising with site management, other trades and the broader project team to sequence works and resolve technical issues

Supporting pre-commissioning testing including string testing, insulation resistance testing and polarity checks

About you

Trade-qualified Electrician (current Australian electrical licence) or relevant electrical engineering background

Strong, demonstrated DC electrical experience on utility-scale solar projects - PV string wiring, combiner boxes, central/string inverters, DC cabling and termination

Proven experience managing or supervising the ITR/ITC commissioning process on a solar farm or comparable large-scale project

Prior experience in a Construction Manager, Supervisor or Electrical Superintendent capacity on renewable energy or utility infrastructure projects

Solid working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 5033 and current solar farm construction/commissioning practices

Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage crews and competing priorities on a live construction site

Current driver's licence and White Card (Construction Induction)

Available for casual, site-based engagement at Uralla, NSW
