Job summary

seek.com.au is looking for an experienced Estimator to join our electrical construction team in Sydney. You will assess project requirements, coordinate subcontractor quotations and prepare accurate tender pricing to support winning bids.

Responsibilities include reviewing documents, preparing budgets, sourcing competitive pricing and maintaining tender records, while building strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating, ideally within electrical construction or a related building services environment.
• Strong knowledge of tendering, project costing and subcontractor management.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to manage competing deadlines and work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, specifications and drawings to determine project scope and requirements.
• Prepare and coordinate tender submissions, quotations and project budgets.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Prepare tender packages and manage tender documentation, addenda and clarifications.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering solutions.
• Follow up on submitted tenders and budgets to support successful project outcomes.
• Coordinate project handovers with project management teams.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and ensure submissions meet deadlines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
