Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent maths and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Anvara Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator on a full-time basis for a large but growing tier 1 electrical contractor. Based in Silverwater, this role is pivotal in ensuring accurate project costing and competitive pricing for our electrical projects. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing project specifications, calculating material and labour costs, and providing detailed estimates that support our sales and project delivery teams. This position plays a crucial part in our business success, directly influencing our ability to win contracts whilst maintaining profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Analysing project drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to determine scope and resource requirements
• Calculating material quantities and labour hours required for electrical installations and projects
• Obtaining quotations from suppliers and negotiating pricing to ensure competitive cost structures
• Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for submission to clients and project teams
• Reviewing and validating estimates for accuracy before finalisation and submission
• Liaising with clients, sales teams, and project managers to clarify project requirements and scope
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of labour rates, material costs, and industry standards
• Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers to secure favourable pricing
• Supporting tender processes and proposal development with comprehensive cost analysis

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or in a similar estimation role within the electrical contracting industry
• Sound knowledge of electrical installations, systems, and industry practices
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities with both internal teams and external suppliers
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work within tight deadlines
• Knowledge of relevant Australian electrical standards and building codes is advantageous
• Relevant electrical trade qualification or tertiary qualification in construction/estimating is preferred
