Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as an Electrical Estimator in Australian electrical construction.
• Experience estimating commercial, industrial and residential electrical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Design & Construct (D&C) projects and tender documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to perform first-principles estimating and cost analyses.
• Experience pricing electrical packages on projects valued between $5M and $15M.
• Knowledge of Australian Electrical Standards and construction methodologies.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as ConEst, Simpro and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates and competitive tender submissions for commercial and industrial construction projects.
• Estimate electrical construction packages typically valued between $5M and $15M.
• Perform first-principles estimating, material take-offs, labour calculations and cost assessments.
• Review tender documentation, electrical drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries, quotations and pricing comparisons.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers and senior management to develop competitive tenders.
• Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
• Maintain estimating records, cost databases and tender documentation.
• Assist with tender handovers to project delivery teams following successful awards.

I am seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a minimum of 5 years' experience to join its growing Sydney team, pricing a diverse portfolio of commercial & industrial electrical construction projects. With electrical projects typically ranging from $5M to $15M, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Estimator who enjoys working on technically challenging projects, preparing competitive tenders and collaborating with experienced project delivery teams.

About You

• Minimum 5 years' experience as an Electrical Estimator within the Australian electrical construction industry is essential.
• Proven experience estimating commercial, industrial and residential electrical construction projects.
• Strong understanding of Design & Construct (D&C) projects, tender documentation and electrical design requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed estimates using first-principles estimating methodologies.
• Experience pricing electrical construction packages, ideally on projects valued between $5M and $15M.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Electrical Standards, regulations and construction methodologies.
• Strong understanding of electrical services, including power, lighting, communications, security and associated infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, schedules and technical documentation.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in cost planning, supplier negotiations and value engineering.
• Proficiency with electrical estimating software such as ConEst, Simpro, Bluebeam or similar.
• Electrical trade background or relevant electrical engineering qualifications highly regarded.
