Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an experienced commissioning leader for the Eva Copper Mine project in Cloncurry, QLD. This full-time, office/project role oversees a small EPCM team and subcontractors across electrical, instrument and control commissioning, from planning to field execution.

The position offers a 2:1 FIFO roster with local applicants encouraged. You will establish procedures, supervise testing, align schedules, and ensure safe, compliant commissioning activities on a major greenfield mine EPC

Qualifications

Requires bachelor’s degree and 8–10 years of relevant experience or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

Establish electrical, instrument and control commissioning procedures for all three stages of commissioning.
Construction supervision for transportable switchrooms and coordinating FATs with suppliers and main automation contractor.
Participate in construction verification, walkdowns and punchlisting for commissioning systems.
Review commissioning activities to ensure conformance with project requirements.
Mentor commissioning engineers and craft in safe execution of commissioning activities.
Coordinate with Mechanical commissioning to optimize overall effort.
Utilize Smart Completion to plan and monitor commissioning activities.
Coordinate supplier and OEM site visits.
Complete commissioning progress reporting per project requirements.
