Job summary

A-Line Group in Moorabbin, VIC invites applications for an Apprentice Electrician to learn switchboard manufacturing from the ground up, working with experienced A Grade electricians and supervisors.

You'll gain skills in assembly, wiring, terminations, testing and drawing interpretation, plus safe work practices in a manufacturing environment, with structured on-the-job training and the potential for ongoing employment on completion of your apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in the electrical trade.
• Willingness to learn and reliable.
• Pre-apprenticeship (Certificate II in Electrotechnology) advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Learn switchboard assembly and manufacturing.
• Assist with wiring, terminations and testing.
• Interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Adhere to factory safety and EBA conditions.

About the Role

As an Apprentice Electrician with A-Line Group, you'll learn switchboard manufacturing from the ground up, working alongside experienced A Grade electricians and supervisors. You'll gain skills in assembly, wiring, terminations, testing and drawing interpretation — a specialist skill set that's in high demand across the industry.

What You'll Learn

• Switchboard assembly and fit-out
• Wiring, terminations and busbar work
• Reading electrical schematics and GA drawings
• Testing and quality assurance processes
• Safe work practices in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with on-site modifications to switchboards
• Control wiring
• Completion of certificate III in Electrotechnology and ability to sit for A Grade license

About You

• Genuine interest in the electrical trade
• Strong work ethic, reliability and willingness to learn
• Good hand skills and attention to detail
• 1st year through to 4th year. (mature-age applicants welcome)
• Pre-apprenticeship (Certificate II in Electrotechnology) advantageous but not essential
