Job summary

The Australian Industry Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre is offering a hands-on apprenticeship opportunity in Melbourne, partnering with Aggreko. This role develops skills in industrial generators, power systems, maintenance, testing and fault finding.

Ideal candidates are 2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprentices with a keen interest in industrial electrical work and a strong team focus. Ongoing mentoring and support are provided.

Qualifications

• You are a 2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice looking to continue your apprenticeship.
• Willingness to learn and work with qualified electricians and technicians.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with wiring and testing industrial generators.
• Assist with electrical fault finding and diagnostics.
• Support repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and LV work.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Use electrical testing equipment and hand tools under supervision.
• Support servicing and commissioning activities and maintain safety.

Location: Braeside, VIC Hours: Monday to Friday | 7:00am to 3:30pm
Are you a 2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice looking to continue your apprenticeship with a global leader in power generation?
The Australian Industry Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre is partnering with Aggreko to offer an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience working on industrial generators, power systems, maintenance, testing and fault finding.
This role is ideal for an apprentice who wants to broaden their skills beyond traditional electrical work and gain valuable experience in an industrial environment.

About the Role

You will work alongside qualified electricians and technicians, assisting with:

• Wiring and testing industrial generators
• Electrical fault finding and diagnostics
• Repair and maintenance of electrical equipment
• Battery and low-voltage electrical work
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
• Using electrical testing equipment and hand tools
• Equipment servicing and commissioning activities
• Maintaining a safe and organised work environment

About You

• Currently undertaking a 2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprenticeship

• Ability to work well in a team
• Current driver's licence preferred
