WASGAC is seeking an Elder Care Manager to lead the strategic growth and delivery of the Elder Care Program for Stolen Generations survivors in Western Australia. You will ensure culturally secure, trauma-informed care, guide policy development, and secure funding to extend services beyond NACCHO-funded requirements.

You will oversee a team including the Elder Care team leader and Connectors, supervise staff, engage with stakeholders, and shape sustainable models of care that reflect survivor

Qualificações

• Experience leading aged care programs or services.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and advocacy skills.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and survivor-led care.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the ongoing development of the Elder Care Program in line with strategic priorities, community needs, and funding environment.
• Identify and respond to service gaps, including areas where My Aged Care access is insufficient for survivors.
• Contribute to funding submissions, concept papers, and strategic proposals for expansion and sustainability.
• Support development of future models of care that are holistic, community-led, and adaptable to changing systems and survivor priorities.
• Supervise and mentor the Elder Care team, fostering a collaborative and culturally safe high-performing environment.
• Ensure consistency and quality in service delivery across client interactions.
• Provide guidance on complex cases involving elder abuse, guardianship, or institutional harm.
• Promote rights-based approaches centering survivor voice in care planning and advocacy.
• Build relationships with My Aged Care assessors, aged care providers, community-controlled organisations, and government stakeholders.
• Represent WASGAC in aged care and Stolen Generations sector forums and working groups.

Formação

Tertiary qualification in aged care, social work, community services, health or business management
