Job summary

Catholic Early EdCare is seeking an Educational Leader for St Thomas More Outside School Hours Care in Sunshine Beach, Queensland. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, child-centered learning experiences for school-aged children in a supportive OSHC setting.

You will collaborate with the Service Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator, step into the Responsible Person role when needed, and contribute to a positive team culture across our CEEC services.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-equivalent).
  • Knowledge of My Time, Our Place Framework and NQS requirements.
  • Experience in OSHC or similar children’s services environment.

Join Our Team at St Thomas More OSHC!

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Educational Leader to join our friendly team at St Thomas More Outside School Hours Care in Sunshine Beach.

Located on the grounds of St Thomas More Catholic Primary School — just minutes from the stunning Sunshine Beach — our service provides a fun, safe and supportive environment where children can relax, learn and grow.
As our Educational Leader, you’ll play an important role in supporting the quality of our educational program, inspiring our team and creating meaningful learning experiences for school-aged children.

This is a permanent part-time position with a minimum of 15 hours per week, with the opportunity to work additional hours depending on the shifts and operational needs of the service.

A Day in the Life of an Educational Leader:
  • Lead and support the development and implementation of a high-quality, inclusive educational program aligned with My Time, Our Place.
  • Inspire educators to create engaging, meaningful and child-led learning experiences.
  • Support the team to provide a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment where every child feels valued.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, families and team members.
  • Observe, reflect on and contribute to continuous improvement across the service.
  • Support educators with programming, documentation, planning and reflective practice.
  • Promote children's agency, wellbeing, inclusion and participation in everyday experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Service Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator to achieve positive outcomes for children, families and the team.
  • Step into the Responsible Person (RP) role when required, in the absence of the Service Coordinator or Assistant Coordinator.
  • Participate in exciting experiences and excursions throughout vacation care.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture where everyone feels supported, valued and empowered to do their best work.
What You’ll Need:
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or an ACECQA-approved equivalent).
  • Current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
  • Current Childcare First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the My Time, Our Place Framework, National Quality Standard and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in OSHC or a similar children's services environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality educational programming and reflective practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting school-aged children to learn, develop and thrive.
  • Confidence and willingness to step into the Responsible Person role when required.
  • Completion of Child Safety Courses 1 & 2 (mandatory); Courses 3 & 4 highly regarded.
