Job summary

St Mary's OSHC Maryborough is seeking an enthusiastic casual Educator to join a dedicated team on the grounds of St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Maryborough. We offer opportunities to support OSHC services across the Hervey Bay region and potentially move into a Responsible Person (RP) role.

You will create fun, engaging programs, care for children before/after school and during vacation care, and work with a supportive team to deliver positive outcomes for families.

Qualifications

• Hold or working towards a Certificate III or Diploma in Children's Services or ACECQA approved equivalent.
• Queensland Blue Card and First Aid/CPR/Asthma/Anaphylaxis certs or willingness to obtain.
• Mandatory Child Protection Course 1 & 2; Course 3 & 4 optional but highly regarded.
• Passion for education and care of school-aged children in a play-based environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills within the workplace.

• Provide warm, nurturing care for children across before school, after school, and vacation care.
• Create a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all.
• Design and deliver fun, inclusive recreational and educational experiences.

Opened in 2017, St Mary's Outside School Hours Care is located on the beautiful grounds of St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Maryborough. We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic and caring casual Educator to join our dedicated team!
We work closely with the school and parish communities to ensure the greatest outcomes for each child, caring for up to 45 children in our dedicated OSHC space, with access to the school hall and oval. For the right candidate, there is also flexibility to support our other OSHC services across the Hervey Bay region, as well as the opportunity to step into a Responsible Person (RP) role — making this a fantastic option for an experienced educator looking to take the next step in their career.

Job Requirements:

• Hold (or are working towards) a Certificate III or Diploma in Children's Services or an ACECQA approved equivalent — desirable but not essential
• Previous childcare or OSHC experience is beneficial
• Hold a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Mandatory Child Protection (Geccko) Course 1 & 2 required — Course 3 & 4 optional but highly regarded
• A passion for the education and care of school-aged children in a play-based environment
• Effective oral and written communication skills within the workplace
• Willingness to support additional OSHC services across the Hervey Bay region and step into an RP role when required is a strong advantage
