Job summary

Gowrie NSW is seeking an Educational Leader at Assistant Manager level to lead practice and support educators in delivering high-quality, child-centred experiences within our OSHC service. You will coach and mentor staff, model strong practice on the floor, and help teams reflect on how children engage with play.

You will lead with a Playwork-informed philosophy, focusing on child-led play, meaningful choice and outdoor activity while upholding safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in an OSHC or early childhood setting.
• Experience coaching and mentoring educators.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with teams, families and school partners.
• Understanding of child-led play and Playwork-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead practice and support educators to deliver high-quality, child-centred experiences.
• Coach and mentor educators to build confidence, consistency and quality.
• Model best-practice on the floor and provide reflective guidance.
• Support educators to reflect on child engagement and play.
• Encourage environments that promote choice, creativity and outdoor play.
• Ensure strong supervision and child-safety practices while considering risk-benefit thinking.
• Provide constructive feedback and help develop professional practice.
• Contribute to a positive service culture and compliant practices.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, educators and school representatives.
