Job summary

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) is seeking an Education Development Officer to support the Curriculum Development team. You will design, develop, review and support curricula and training components across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, engaging diverse stakeholders and translating feedback into actionable plans and products.

Responsibilities include facilitating workshops, aligning processes with educational frameworks, and reporting on change activities.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in education and training.
• Proven ability to design, develop, facilitate and evaluate curricula, programs, workshops and training sessions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• High level conceptual and analytical abilities.
• Ability to translate and summarize complex information.
• Empathy with stakeholder needs and feedback.
• Attention to detail in documenting and delivering curricula.
• Experience designing and adapting business processes for curricula delivery.
• Ability to work autonomously with initiative and problem-solving.
• Resilience, adaptability, and openness to new ideas.
• Knowledge of researching and implementing educational curricula and training systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, MS Teams, Zoom.

• Plan and run virtual and in-person workshops and meetings.
• Support implementation of new training requirements and tools.
• Develop business processes aligning curricula with delivery platforms.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other postgraduate colleges.
• Monitor progress and effectiveness of change activities.
• Contribute to other education projects as required.

Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working Model

• 3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,
• 2 days from an RACP office location per week,
• 1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.

Job Description

The Role

The primary role of the Education Development Officer is to support the Curriculum Development team to design, develop, review and support the implement of curricula and training program components in line with agreed educational frameworks, policies and procedures.

This includes managing a diverse range of stakeholders involved in specialist medical training programs in healthcare settings across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

In this role the dutieswill include but are not limited to:

• Design, develop and maintain educational products related to the College curricula including learning and assessment activities and educational guides.
• Effectively translate information, such as educational concepts and stakeholder feedback, into actionable plans and products that consider stakeholder needs and impacts.
• Design, develop, organise, facilitate and evaluate virtual and face-to-face workshops/meetings.
• Manage the actions necessary to support implementation of new or revised training requirements or tools.
• Collaborate on the development of business processes and procedures that align with curricula and the technology platform that will deliver the new programs.
• Negotiate and manage relationships with complex groups of internal and external stakeholders, including other postgraduate medical colleges.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. adult education, communications, change management) and/or extensive relevant experience
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, facilitate and evaluate curricula, programs, workshops and training sessions
• Proven customer service and relationship management skills, with a focus on stakeholder engagement
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
• High level conceptual and analytical skills
• Ability to translate, synthesise and summarise complex information
• Ability to empathise with stakeholder needs and respond to feedback and sentiment
