Job summary

Woolworths Group seeks an experienced Edge Infrastructure Technical Architect to own architectural blueprint, hardware selection and end-to-end deployment for next-generation store systems. You will shape distributed edge nodes, smart networks and mobile fleets as a cloud-native product, code-enabled and security-driven.

Lead the design of scalable compute/storage, hybrid cloud, and SDN for retail environments. Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver dependable, secure infrastructure at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, technical design or systems engineering.
• Experience in a modern DevOps/DevSecOps environment with automated infrastructure provisioning.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native paradigms and security principles.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategic roadmap for Edge and IoT platforms across multi-site retail environments.
• Architect scalable compute and storage configurations including hybrid cloud and software-defined networking.
• Standardize enterprise-scale communication protocols (MQTT, CoAP) and integration with Azure IoT Hub.
• Design CI/CD deployment pipelines (Azure Pipelines, GitOps, Ansible) and policy-driven security.
• Architect ruggedised Android solutions and management platforms for retail/distribution centers.
• Mentor a team of infrastructure engineers and partner with business stakeholders to translate needs into robust platform capabilities.
