Job summary

Woolworths Group is seeking an Engineer for Edge, OpenShift and Linux Platforms to own lifecycle, scalability, and developer experience of core OS and container environments. You will bridge Engineering and Operations to ensure high uptime and secure, container-ready edge infrastructure.

You will work on platform roadmaps, IaC tooling, and CI/CD pipelines, while translating security requirements into automated remediation and driving operational excellence across distributed edge locations.

Qualifications

7+ years in IT Infrastructure or Software Engineering.
2–3 years in a Product Environment or Technical Architecture role focusing on edge computing or container platforms.
Degree in Computing Science or equivalent; Red Hat Certifications (RHCE, EX280 OpenShift) or Cloud Native Computing Foundation Certifications (CKA/CKS) are a significant plus.
A "consultant" mindset.

Responsibilities

Platform Roadmap: Contribute to the Golden Path for Linux and OpenShift deployments at the edge.
Infrastructure as Product: Deliver edge environments as consumable automation services via Terraform/Ansible/GitOps.
DevOps Orchestration: Own CI/CD pipelines for image builds, testing, and fleet patch orchestration.
Security & Compliance: Translate CIS benchmarks and other requirements into automated remediation backlogs.
Operational Excellence: Use monitoring tools to identify and reduce edge fleet toil.
