Job summary

Woolworths Group is seeking an Infrastructure Solution Architect to join its Architecture team. You will provide IT infrastructure consulting, design high level infrastructure solutions, and guide projects across the retail group with a focus on security, resilience and efficiency.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years experience as an infrastructure architect.
• Experience in designing and deploying large centralised and distributed applications from an infrastructure perspective.
• Experience architecting solutions with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of networking and cyber security in large enterprise environments.
• Experience in design to enable observability, event management and AIOps would be advantageous.
• Experience with considered implementation of automation and AI tools to boost personal and team productivity.

Responsibilities

• Partner with technology customers to consult and guide technology projects, optimising the selection and use of infrastructure.
• Analyse business requirements to identify standardised architecture and services; and where new patterns or services are required.
• Produce Infrastructure High Level Designs, aligning with security, performance, availability and operational support goals.
• Ensure solutions enable discoverability, observability and self-heal capabilities by design.
• Ensure designs align with Woolworths standards in partnership with Technology stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of architecture policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Contribute to our ways of working and practices, seeking practical ways to enhance services and increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with other architecture teams to align and improve practices and share knowledge.

What You'll Do

As an Infrastructure Solution Architect you will be part of the Infrastructure Architecture team, providing IT infrastructure consulting and architecture services to business domains within the Woolworths Group.

Infrastructure Solution Architecture

• Partner with our technology customers to consult and guide technology projects, optimising the selection and use of infrastructure.
• Analyse business requirements to identify where standardised architecture and services can be employed; and where new patterns or services are required.
• Produce Infrastructure High Level Designs, unpinning business applications with the best value infrastructure services to meet security, performance, availability, and operational support objectives.
• Ensure solutions enable discoverability, observability and self heal capabilities by design
• Ensure that designs align with Woolworths standards in partnership with Technology stakeholders.

Infrastructure Architecture Centre of Enablement

• Contribute to the development of architecture policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Contribute to our ways of working and practices, seeking practical ways to enhance our services and increase efficiency
• Collaborate with other architecture teams in the organisation to align and improve practices and share knowledge and insights.

What will you bring?

• Ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders with varied levels of technical expertise
• Enthusiasm and commitment to learn new technologies and approaches to serve our business across a diverse technical landscape.
• A minimum of 5 years experience as an infrastructure architect.
• Extensive architecture experience in the design and deployment of large centralised and distributed applications environments from an infrastructure perspective.
• Experience in any of the following industries: Retail, Government Services, Banking, Financial Services, Supply Chain & Logistics Design.
• Experience architecting solutions with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of networking and cyber security in large enterprise environments.
• Experience in design to enable observability, event management and AIOps would be advantageous.
• Experience with considered implementation of automation and AI tools to boost personal and team productivity.
