Job description

We’re looking for an Ecommerce Lead who lives and breathes online retail. Someone who can spot friction in a shopping journey, find the opportunity in the data and drive an improvement through to launch.

You’ll own the Shiels onsite experience, working closely with our ecommerce and marketing teams to bring trading, merchandising, search and UX together to improve the customer journey and drive results.

What you’ll own
  • The onsite trading experience: Keep campaigns, promotions, content and Shopify collections accurate, engaging and ready to go. Use customer behaviour, stock availability and performance data to make better merchandising decisions.
  • Product discovery: Manage onsite search and collection rules, including Searchspring product ranking and relevance. Turn search insights into practical improvements.
  • UX improvement: Research how customers use the website through tools such as Microsoft Clarity, session reviews and user testing. Build a backlog of hypotheses, create wireframes and prototypes, design tests and share clear results. Brief the development team and manage a swift turnaround from idea to live improvement.
  • Search visibility: Drive technical, on-page, category and editorial SEO implementation, alongside structured content for answer engines. Manage local listings and Google Business Profiles for the Shiels store network, working with agency and internal partners where needed.
  • Personalisation: Implement and test onsite experiences that make shopping more relevant, then measure their effect on conversion and revenue.
  • Smarter ways of working: Use AI and automation to solve practical challenges, improve processes and make high-quality execution more efficient.
What you’ll bring

You’ll have 3+ years of retail ecommerce experience, and strong trading instincts. You understand how onsite content, merchandising, promotions and UX work together to influence conversion and sales.

You’re confident with GA4, Shopify Analytics and Excel, and you know your way around conversion rate, average order value, traffic and margin. More importantly, you can turn what the numbers tell you into a clear action and follow it through.

You’ll bring sharp attention to detail, the ability to juggle a fast-moving trade calendar and a collaborative style that helps you work well with marketing, creative, buyers and developers. You’re curious about AI and process improvement, and you put the customer at the centre of every decision. Shopify experience will be highly regarded.

Why Shiels?

At Shiels, you’ll have the chance to shape the experience customers have on a well-established jewellery website and see the impact of your work. You’ll join a team that values fresh ideas, moves quickly, works together and cares about getting the details right.

If you’re ready to own the Shiels ecommerce experience and turn good ideas into measurable results, we’d love to hear from you.
