Job summary

Mildura English Language Centre (MELC), a campus of Mildura Senior College, is seeking a Multicultural Education Aide to support EAL programs for students from Prep to Year 10. You will translate between teachers, students and families and assist in enrolment and parent conferences.

The role focuses on language support, classroom resources, and coordinating with external service providers to enhance student learning and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Capacity to support teachers and students across P-10 intensive EAL programs.
• Effective communication with students, families and school community.
• Proficient use of ICT and digital learning tools for EAL.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth.
• Reading, writing, speaking and listening in English and another language.

Responsibilities

• Support student learning individually or in groups with direction from teachers.
• Translate communications between teachers, students and families.
• Assist with enrolment interviews and Parent/Teacher Conferences translations.
• Prepare basic curriculum resources and liaise with external support services.
• Support student wellbeing and contribute to inclusive classroom culture.
