Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in a fast-paced kitchen is preferred.
• Direct and coordinate food preparation activities.
• Enforce OH&S and hygiene regulations.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate food or beverage preparation.
• Analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items based on costs.
• Prepare and cook foods in quantity for regular operations or functions.
• Develop menus based on customer preferences.
• Enforce OH&S and hygiene regulations.
• Inspect facilities or equipment for regulatory compliance.
• Requisition stock, materials, supplies or equipment.
• Recruit and hire staff, including cooks and kitchen workers.
• Schedule employee work hours by coordinating activities.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for standards.
• Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions.
