Job summary

Whittlesea Secondary College in Melbourne’s outer north is seeking a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and deliver engaging programs that meet diverse student needs. The role focuses on literacy and numeracy, data-informed instruction and collaboration with families and colleagues.

You will contribute to school policies, mentor student teachers, and support student learning through high-quality instruction aligned with the college’s strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning/high impact teaching strategies and evaluating impact.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning with data-informed feedback.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching and developing curriculum
• Develop and evaluate curriculum programs
• Undertake other duties as directed by principal
• Engage with parent meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties
