Sir Joseph Banks Hotel in Botany, part of Orion Hotel Group, seeks a hands-on Duty Manager to lead shifts across bar, gaming, and events. You’ll own front- and back-of-house operations with a focus on guest experience and standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience as a Duty Manager or Senior Supervisor.
• Experience in Gaming, TAB, KENO.
• Strong leadership presence and communication skills.
• Calm, organised, and solutions-focused.
• Comfortable balancing service, people, and compliance.
• Back-of-house experience highly regarded.
• RSA, RCG, ARCG certifications.

Responsibilities

• Leading shifts across bar, gaming, functions, and accommodation.
• Managing opens, closes, cash handling, and reporting.
• Supporting functions and event execution.
• Assisting with ordering, stock control, and supplier coordination.
• Contributing to rostering and labour efficiency.
• Supporting venue compliance (RSA, RCG, gaming, WHS, food safety).
• Assisting with local marketing and in-venue promotions.
• Coaching and developing team members.
• Maintaining service standards, presentation, and guest experience.

We’re seeking a hands-on, people-focused Duty Manager to take ownership of shifts and contribute to both front- and back-of-house operations.

This role suits an experienced Duty Manager or a senior supervisor ready to step up into a broader leadership position with exposure beyond the floor.
