Job summary

Orion Hotel Group’s Vauxhall Inn in Sydney is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to lead daily operations on a seven-day rotating roster, including nights and weekends. The role focuses on gaming operations, customer service, and ensuring compliance with AML/CTF, RSA, RCG, ARCG and security requirements.

You will manage gaming and bar teams, oversee opening/closing, cash handling, and deliver an exceptional guest experience while upholding venue standards and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Duty Manager or senior gaming supervisor.
• Holds a current RSA and RCG and ARCG.
• Strong gaming knowledge and experience (TAB and Keno operations).
• Hands-on leadership style and ability to perform under pressure.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing venue operations during allocated shifts across Gaming, Bar, TAB/Keno.
• Leading, supporting and supervising gaming and bar teams on shift.
• Delivering an exceptional patron and guest experience across all areas.
• Creating gaming ambiance, atmosphere and service standards.
• Managing staff allocations, breaks and shift performance.
• Handling customer complaints professionally and effectively.

• Maintaining venue presentation, safety and operational standards.
• Liaising with licensing, council, and Liquor & Gaming officials as required.

About the Role

Reporting to the Venue Management team, the Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the venue during allocated shifts, with a strong focus on Gaming operations, compliance, and service standards, while supporting bar and food operations as required.

This role is ideal for an experienced Duty Manager or a senior supervisor ready to step up within Orion Hotel Group, with opportunities for growth as the group continues to expand.

The Opportunity

As Duty Manager, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Previous experience as a Duty Manager or senior gaming supervisor

• Holds a current RSA and RCG and ARCG

• Strong gaming knowledge and experience (systems, procedures and compliance)

• Proven experience in TAB and Keno operations (essential)

• A hands-on leadership style - comfortable getting stuck in and leading by example

• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain systems and procedures

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Is reliable, organised and able to work independently

• Takes pride in venue standards and team performance

• Availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including nights and weekends, public holidays
