Job summary

The Boab Tavern in Tasmania is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to lead day-to-day operations across our venue, including bars, bistro, TAB and bottleshop. You will coach and mentor the team while delivering outstanding guest experiences.

This hands-on leadership role offers a salary of $80,000–$81,000 plus Super, with real opportunities for career progression in a locally owned hotel renowned for hospitality.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience as Duty Manager.
• Pub, hotel or high-volume hospitality experience.
• RSA, food handling and first aid certificates.
• Hands-on leadership style with strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading the team during service
• Training, coaching and developing staff and duty managers
• Stock control, with stocktakes
• Opening, closing and cash management
• Supporting Bottleshop and kitchen operations
• Beer line cleaning and upholding general bar standards
• Assisting across the entire venue as required
• Ensuring compliance with RSA, food certificates, TAB and venue procedures
• Helping build a positive team culture to continuously improve operations

About the Role

Working alongside our Venue Manager, you'll help lead the day-to-day operations across our venue – which includes; multiple bars, Bottleshop, bistro, TAB and function areas.

A major focus of this role iscoaching, mentoring and developing our team. We're looking for someone who enjoys helping others grow, setting high service standards and building a positive workplace culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the team during service
• Training, coaching and developing staff and duty managers
