Job summary

Brisbane Brewing Co Woolloongabba is seeking a hands-on Manager to oversee daily operations across the venue, including bar, restaurant, gaming room and functions. The role can be a Duty Manager or Venue Manager, with a focus on leadership and guest experience.

You’ll manage day-to-day staff, stock, promotions and events, while upholding safety and licensing requirements. A strong track record in hospitality management and customer service is essential.

Job description

Brisbane Brewing Co is a family run business operating across two venues in Woolloongabba and West End. We're currently looking for a Manager for our Woolloongabba location, a historical venue that has been tastefully renovated into a market-leading modern hotel. We have two bars, restaurant, beer garden, bottle shop and gaming room.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The advertised role is for either a Duty Manager or a Venue Manager at Brisbane Brewing Co Woolloongabba.

Both roles are hands-on and are responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the business.

A meal is supplied for each shift.

The days for your 5-day work week are consecutive (except on very rare occasions) and you will enjoy 2 RDOs weekly.

You will enjoy 4 weeks of Annual Leave per year.

All staff enjoy a discount on food and beverages purchased in the business.

ABOUT US

We trade 7 days and 7 nights from 10am until late (excluding Good Friday and Christmas Day). Lunch and Dinner are served daily.

Our Woolloongabba venue has developed a good reputation that is grounded in the consistent quality of its food and friendly service.

We also own and operate Brisbane Brewing Co. in West End, which is our brewery/distillery/bar/restaurant.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a hospitality professional to join our management team in Woolloongabba.

Candidates must be available to work mixed day and night shifts as required by our operating hours.

Australian citizens and permanent residents only are eligible to apply for this position.

As the successful applicant, you must have a proven track record in hospitality management. You will have an in-depth knowledge of running a bar, gaming, restaurant and functions. You are a gracious but firm leader who works hard and leads by example.

Pub/Hotel management experience is ideal in order to demonstrate your proven track record in this field. You will be dynamic in your approach to your daily tasks, you're passionate about excellent customer service and the training thereof, you're an excellent leader, and you have a deep-seeded knowledge of good food, beers, cocktails, gaming and running a busy bar.

In addition, you will ideally have:

At least 2 years' experience in a similar Manager/Duty Manager role.
Whilst 2+ years of Manager/Duty Manager experience is strongly preferred, we encourage applications from suitable candidates with slightly less experience.

Passion about craft beer and good food.

A track record in executing promotions and events in a venue.

Cash handling, gaming clearances, end of day processing.

Current licenses and certificates: RSA/RSG/RMLV/Approved Managers. All required licenses and certificates (RSA/RSG/RMLV/Approved Managers) must be current and valid at the time of application.

Restaurant management experience is an advantage given the comprehensive food service operations at our venue.

Function management experience essential in this role.

Experience in stock ordering/stock takes.

Relevant computer skills: MS Office, POS Software (H+L or similar) etc.

References/referees are essential and must be provided.
