The Bridge Hotel Werribee in Melbourne's west is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to lead busy dining, bars, functions and events. In this hands-on role, you’ll supervise front-of-house teams, act as Manager on Duty, and help deliver a warm, guest-focused experience across multiple service styles.

You’ll work with the Venue Manager and broader leadership team, maintain service standards, manage opening/closing procedures, and contribute to a positive team culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Duty Manager or senior supervisor in a busy pub or multifaceted hospitality venue.
• Confidence leading teams across different service styles, from dining to high-volume bar and late-night operations.
• Hands-on leadership approach and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience with security teams and responsible service of alcohol.
• Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling and venue opening/closing procedures.
• Genuine interest in live music, entertainment and the local pub scene.
• Current Victorian RSA and food safety certification; First Aid is highly regarded.

Duty Manager | Bridge Hotel Werribee
Full-Time | 38 Hours Per Week

The Bridge Hotel is a vibrant, community-driven pub in the heart of Werribee. We're a place where locals come together, whether it's for a midweek lunch, a busy Friday dinner, a Saturday night on the dance floor or a celebration with friends and family.

With a diverse offering across dining, bars, functions, live music and DJs, no two days at the Bridge are quite the same. We're continuing to grow, with exciting developments including our new Outdoor Bar, and we're looking for a confident, hands-on Duty Manager to grow with us.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Duty Manager who enjoys the variety and energy of a busy, multifaceted pub.

This is a general Duty Manager position, meaning you won't be confined to one particular department. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to wear plenty of different hats, overseeing everything from relaxed lunches and bustling dinner services to large functions, live entertainment and our vibrant Bridge Saturdays.

You'll be a visible presence on the floor, leading from the front, supporting the team and ensuring every service runs smoothly.

Working alongside our Venue Manager and broader leadership team, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the pub while helping us continue to develop our offering and the experience we provide to our guests.

What you'll be doing:

• Overseeing daily venue operations across our dining spaces, bars, functions and entertainment offerings.
• Leading and supporting the front-of-house team across a variety of services, including busy evenings and late-night trade.
• Acting as Manager on Duty, taking responsibility for service standards, operational decisions and the overall guest experience.
• Supporting the delivery of Bridge Saturdays, live music, DJs and other entertainment and events.
• Working collaboratively with our kitchen, bar, functions and security teams to ensure seamless service.
• Managing opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, reconciliations, venue security and incident management.
• Supporting staff training and development while maintaining a positive, professional and collaborative team culture.
• Ensuring compliance with RSA, food safety, occupational health and safety and venue policies while contributing ideas to improve our operations.

What we're looking for

We're after someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, thrives on variety and is comfortable taking ownership of a busy service.

• Previous experience as a Duty Manager or senior supervisor in a busy pub or multifaceted hospitality venue.
• Confidence leading teams across different service styles, from food-focused dining to high-volume bar and late-night operations.
• A hands-on approach to leadership, with a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience working alongside security teams and managing responsible service of alcohol.
• Sound knowledge of POS systems, cash handling and venue opening and closing procedures.
• A genuine interest in live music, entertainment, events and the local pub scene.
• A positive, approachable attitude and a commitment to building a strong team culture.
• A current Victorian RSA and food safety certification are required. First Aid certification is highly regarded.

This is a permanent full-time position with a regular 38-hour working week and fixed days off. The roster will include a rotating mix of opening, middle and closing shifts, with evening, weekend and late-night availability essential.
