Job summary

Core Talent is seeking an experienced Fire Technician (Dry/Passive) in Newcastle, NSW. This permanent, full-time role offers exposure to a well-established fire protection business with a strong pipeline across the Newcastle region.

You will work on dry detection, alarms, fire panels and fault finding, as well as passive tasks like fire doors, penetration seals and fire stopping. A practical, safety-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ months in the fire protection industry.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards and BCA/NCC requirements.
• Cert II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing, or equivalent experience.
• Electrical licence/qualifications (highly regarded for Dry).
• Carpentry trade qualifications (highly regarded for Passive).
• Current NSW driver’s licence and White Card.
• A good attitude and pride in your work.

Responsibilities

• Perform dry fire protection tasks including detection, alarms and fault finding on fire panels.
• Carry out passive fire protection work such as installation of fire doors, penetration seals and fire stopping.
• Assist in site checks and ensure compliance with NSW standards and NCC requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with supervisors on progress.
