Job summary

Team Global Express seeks a Driver/Dockhand based at Hobart Airport in Cambridge to perform local pickups and deliveries across the Hobart area. This hands-on role includes forklift and depot duties, loading and unloading freight, and ensuring secure transport while adhering to safety procedures.

Ideal candidates will hold an MR Driver Licence, a Forklift Licence, and have experience in professional driving or logistics.

About the role

Team Global Express is seeking an Driver/Dockhand to join our team based at Hobart Airport in Cambridge. This is a hands‑on transport role responsible for the safe and efficient pickup and delivery of general freight across the local area, along with forklift and depot duties.

Key responsibilities

• Completing scheduled local pickup and delivery runs across Hobart
• Safely operating an MR vehicle between the depot and customer locations
• Completing multiple pickups and deliveries throughout each run
• Loading and unloading general freight at the depot and customer sites
• Operating a forklift to load and unload freight as required
• Checking freight against consignment details and delivery documentation
• Ensuring freight is correctly loaded, secured, and protected during transit
• Completing pre‑start and routine vehicle safety checks
• Safely manoeuvring vehicles in depot yards, loading areas, customer premises, and other confined areas
• Completing delivery documentation, freight scanning, and proof of delivery requirements
• Providing professional and courteous service when dealing with customers and site contacts
• Reporting damaged, missing, or incorrectly addressed freight
• Reporting vehicle defects, incidents, delays, or other issues as required
• Assisting with freight handling and general depot operations between driving runs
• Following all company safety procedures, road laws, and operational requirements

What you’ll bring

• A current and valid MR Driver Licence
• A current Forklift Licence
• Previous experience in a professional driving, transport, freight, or logistics environment
• Experience with local pickup and delivery operations
• A strong understanding of safe driving practices and load restraint
• The ability to safely load, unload, handle, and secure general freight
• Knowledge of Hobart and surrounding areas, or the ability to confidently navigate local delivery routes
• A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and responsible driving
• A professional and customer‑focused approach when dealing with customers and members of the public
