Job summary

Team Global Express invites applications for a Driver/Dockhand based at Hobart Airport in Cambridge. You will perform local pickup and delivery runs, operate an MR vehicle and forklift, load and unload freight, and complete delivery documentation with care and accuracy.

You will be expected to follow safety procedures, assist with depot operations, and provide courteous service to customers. Full Australian working rights required; Hobart area knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hold a current MR Driver Licence and forklift licence.
• Experience in professional driving, transport, freight or logistics.
• Knowledge of local pickup and delivery operations in Hobart.
• Commitment to safety, load restraint and compliant driving practices.
• Customer-focused with professional communication.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled local pickup and delivery runs across Hobart.
• Operate an MR vehicle between depot and customer locations.
• Load and unload general freight at depot and customer sites.
• Use forklift to load/unload freight as required.
• Check freight against consignments and documentation.
• Complete delivery paperwork, freight scanning and POD.
• Follow safety procedures and report issues as required.
• Support depot operations between driving runs.

About the roleTeam Global Express is seeking an Driver/Dockhand to join our team based at Hobart Airport in Cambridge. This is a hands-on transport role responsible for the safe and efficient pickup and delivery of general freight across the local area, along with forklift and depot duties.Key responsibilities include:Completing scheduled local pickup and delivery runs across HobartSafely operating an MR vehicle between the depot and customer locationsCompleting multiple pickups and deliveries throughout each runLoading and unloading general freight at the depot and customer sitesOperating a forklift to load and unload freight as requiredChecking freight against consignment details and delivery documentationEnsuring freight is correctly loaded, secured, and protected during transitCompleting pre-start and routine vehicle safety checksSafely manoeuvring vehicles in depot yards, loading areas, customer premises, and other confined areasCompleting delivery documentation, freight scanning, and proof of delivery requirementsProviding professional and courteous service when dealing with customers and site contactsReporting damaged, missing, or incorrectly addressed freightReporting vehicle defects, incidents, delays, or other issues as requiredAssisting with freight handling and general depot operations between driving runsFollowing all company safety procedures, road laws, and operational requirementsWhat you'll bringA current and valid MR Driver LicenceA current Forklift LicencePrevious experience in a professional driving, transport, freight, or logistics environmentExperience with local pickup and delivery operationsA strong understanding of safe driving practices and load restraintThe ability to safely load, unload, handle, and secure general freightKnowledge of Hobart and surrounding areas, or the ability to confidently navigate local delivery routesA strong commitment to safety, compliance, and responsible drivingA professional and customer-focused approach when dealing with customers and members of the publicFull working rights in Australia#LI-DNI#LI-DNPAbout Team Global ExpressTeam Global Express (TGE) is an Australian-owned transport and logistics business delivering to Australia and New Zealand.
