We are seeking an experienced and strategic operational leader to support the Operations Manager, Transperth Train Operations, in delivering exceptional operational performance across the urban rail network. This influential role is responsible for leading Depot Managers and operational support functions to ensure the safe, effective and customer‑focused delivery of train services while driving the achievement of divisional and organisational objectives. To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the leadership behaviours expected of a senior public sector leader, including the ability to lead collectively, navigate complexity, build organisational capability, deliver on key priorities, adapt to changing environments and embody the spirit of public service through integrity, collaboration and a genuine commitment to serving Western Australians.

About You

  • Proven ability to think strategically, assess complex operational challenges and identify opportunities, risks and innovative solutions that support organisational objectives and network performance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams, building capability through coaching, mentoring and strong people leadership to foster a high‑performing and engaged workforce.
  • Strong change leadership skills, with the ability to successfully lead teams through transformation, embed new ways of working and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic operational environment.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills, with a track record of building trusted relationships and collaborating with senior leaders and key stakeholders to achieve strategic workforce and operational outcomes.
  • A collaborative leadership style, underpinned by sound judgement, resilience and the ability to navigate complexity while maintaining focus on safety, service delivery and organisational priorities.
