Job summary

Team Global Express in Chevallum is seeking an experienced MC Driver to join our night shift team, starting at 4:00pm. You will perform depot-to-depot linehaul movements between Chevallum and Larapinta, typically two return trips per shift with a possible third run.

You will operate MC combination vehicles safely on metropolitan and highway networks, conduct pre-start and post-trip inspections, ensure loads are secured, complete transport documentation, and liaise with fleet controllers to meet

Qualifications

• Current MC licence is required.
• Experience in depot-to-depot or linehaul driving is highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of fatigue management and heavy vehicle compliance.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
• Commitment to safety and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Complete depot-to-depot linehaul movements between Chevallum and Larapinta.
• Safely operate MC combination vehicles across networks.
• Manage multiple linehaul runs per shift and meet timeframes.
• Conduct pre-start, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure freight is loaded, restrained and transported per procedures.
• Couple/uncouple trailers and perform trailer changeovers as required.
• Monitor vehicle performance and road conditions for safe transit.
• Maintain fatigue management, CoR and heavy vehicle compliance.
• Communicate with fleet controllers and depot staff on schedules.
• Complete transport documentation and compliance records accurately.
• Report hazards, incidents, and defects promptly.
• Adhere to all company policies and safe work practices.

About the role

Team Global Express is currently seeking an experienced MC Driver to join our team based at our Chevallum Depot. This is a permanent full-time night shift opportunity, with a standard start time of 4:00pm.

In this role, you will be responsible for completing scheduled depot-to-depot linehaul movements between Chevallum and Larapinta, ensuring freight is transported safely, efficiently, and within designated timeframes. The role typically involves completing two return trips per shift, with a third run required at times depending on operational requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing scheduled linehaul movements between Chevallum and Larapinta in accordance with operational schedules
• Safely operating MC combination vehicles across metropolitan and highway networks
• Managing multiple linehaul runs per shift while maintaining service and delivery timeframes
• Conducting comprehensive pre-start, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring freight is loaded, restrained, and transported in accordance with company procedures and load restraint requirements
• Safely coupling and uncoupling trailers and performing trailer changeovers where required
• Monitoring vehicle performance and road conditions to ensure safe and efficient transit
• Maintaining compliance with fatigue management, Chain of Responsibility, and heavy vehicle legislation
• Communicating effectively with fleet controllers, operations teams, and depot personnel regarding schedules and operational updates
• Completing transport documentation, manifests, and compliance records accurately
• Reporting hazards, incidents, near misses, and vehicle defects in a timely manner
• Following all company policies, procedures, and safe work practices

What you’ll bring

• A current and valid MC Licence
• Previous linehaul, changeover, or depot-to-depot driving experience highly regarded
• Strong knowledge of fatigue management, Chain of Responsibility, and heavy vehicle compliance requirements
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently

• The ability to accurately complete transport and compliance documentation
