Job summary

Westgold Resources is seeking a skilled Drill Fitter for its Beta Hunt site in Kambalda, WA. Full-time, permanent role with an 8 days on/6 days off roster including nights. Flexible options including FIFO, DIDO, and residential choices in Kambalda & Kalgoorlie.

You will diagnose, repair and maintain drill rigs underground, with strong emphasis on safety and record-keeping, supporting efficient mining operations.

Qualifications

• Current C Class manual WA driver's licence.
• Trade qualifications, certificates and licences relevant to drill fitting.
• 4+ years experience as a Drill Fitter in underground mining.
• CMMS (Pronto) experience is desirable.
• Strong teamwork and safety focus.
• Good computer skills and MS Office literacy.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proactive, problem-solver with adaptable mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform fault diagnosis, maintenance and repair of drill rigs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and prevent problems.
• Collaborate with maintenance to schedule repairs and minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new drilling equipment.
• Adhere to safety guidelines to promote a secure working environment.

THE ROLE

• Perform fault diagnosis, maintain and repair associated drill rigs
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and prevent potential problems
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize repairs to minimize downtime
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new drilling equipment
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols at all times to promote a secure working environment

WHAT DO I NEED

• Current “C” Class Manual Western Australian driver’s licence
• Valid and relevant trade qualifications, certificates, and licences
• 4+ years experience in a Drill Fitter role within underground mining
• Experience with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as Pronto (desired)
• A can-do, team-oriented attitude
• Desire to maintain a proactive safe working environment
• Reasonable computer skills & literacy, particularly across the MS Office suite
• Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and be adaptable
• Excellent communication skills
