Job summary

Westgold Resources is seeking an experienced maintenance technician for its Bluebird Operations near Meekatharra in Western Australia. The role focuses on inspections and repairs of underground mobile equipment, following maintenance schedules, and supporting planning and safety standards.

We offer a permanent full-time position with a competitive base salary, site and wellbeing allowances, up to 15% STI bonus, and superannuation.

Qualifications

• Current C Class WA manual driver's licence is required.
• Trade qualifications/certificates relevant to heavy industry are required.
• Experience in underground mining or heavy industry is essential.
• Experience with flux core, arc, oxy, MIG and related processes is preferred.
• CMMS experience (e.g., Pronto) is desirable.
• Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets are advantageous.
• Ability to operate in an underground environment and perform manual tasks.
• Solid computer literacy, including MS Office, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections and repairs on underground mobile equipment.
• Follow maintenance schedules to minimise disruption to operations.
• Contribute to maintenance planning for operational needs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify issues and prevent downtime.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritise repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures at all times.

THE ROLE

• Carry out inspections and repairs on a wide range of underground mobile equipment
• Follow maintenance schedules to minimise disruption to mining operations
• Actively participate in maintenance planning activities to support operational requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Conduct routine inspections to identify, address, and prevent potential equipment issues
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to prioritise and schedule repairs for minimal downtime
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance and repair activities
• Adhere to safety standards, procedures, and protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment

WHAT DO I NEED

• Current “C” Class Manual Western Australian driver’s licence
• Valid and relevant trade qualifications, certificates, and licences
• Experience within an underground mining or heavy industry environment
• Experience in Flux Core, Arc, Oxy, MIG, Air Arc Gouging & Lancing (232 & XLR8 wire)
• Experience with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) such as Pronto (desired)
• Confined Space Ticket (desirable)
• Working at Heights Ticket (desirable)
• Ability to work in an underground environment
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
• Desire to maintain a proactive safe working environment
• Reasonable computer skills and literacy, particularly across the MS Office Suite
• Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and be adaptable
