Job summary

Chess Engineering head office based in Leppington NSW seeks a Draftsperson to produce and maintain accurate drawings using CAD and Autodesk Inventor. You will translate engineering designs into technical plans, prepare BOMs, and support project processing while liaising with the Project Manager to meet client requirements.

Qualifications

• Drafting qualifications (Cert 4+ in drafting or engineering)
• Previous drafting experience
• Experience using CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor
• Experience liaising with workshop to verify job progress
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Adaptable to changing work environment and competing demands
• Ability to work on site at Leppington and visit client sites

Responsibilities

• Create and revise drawings by hand or CAD
• Interpret technical specs to design project-appropriate products
• Translate designs into accurate technical drawings and plans using CAD
• Prepare BOMs to support material procurement and job processing
• Develop detailed design drawings for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls using CAD (Autodesk Inventor)
• Coordinate with Project Manager to develop layouts and components, resolving design issues
• Review specs, sketches, drawings to assess design factors and procedures
