Job summary

Our client is an Illawarra-based engineering design and project services consultancy, located in Unanderra. They are seeking a motivated Draftsperson to join the Design Services team, with experience in mechanical drafting and collaboration with engineers.

Roles include developing 3D models, creating 2D drawings, fabrication drawings, and ensuring drawings meet engineering intent and standards. AutoCAD/SolidWorks/Inventor exposure is preferred; studying toward a Diploma is welcome.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Drafting or studying towards it.
• Experience as a Draftsperson.
• Experience with 2D and 3D modelling.
• Exposure to AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Inventor.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Familiar with Australian design/drawing standards.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Clear communication and ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Developing 3D models and detailed 2D mechanical drawings
• Preparing fabrication and construction drawings
• Producing general arrangements and drawings per engineering intent
• Assisting with engineering calculations under guidance
• Applying industry standards and project specifications
• Participating in design reviews and supporting project delivery
• Collaborating with engineers and other design disciplines
• Producing accurate technical documentation and maintaining document control
