Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a highly motivated draftsperson for a residential builder in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. The role focuses on producing accurate full working drawings and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years in residential design, strong REVIT skills, and tertiary qualifications in Building Design or Architecture, with a solid understanding of ResCode and related industry standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in residential building design.
• Proficient in REVIT and design drafting workflows.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and residential standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Full Working Drawings using REVIT.
• Liaise with Permits, Customer Service, Estimating, Interior Designers and Site Supervisors.
• Coordinate with Energy Assessors and Engineers.
• Ensure accurate reporting with data and note entry.
• Maintain workload communications with Business Manager and team.
• Prepare Master Drawings.

Working under our Business Manager, your Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of Full Working Drawings using REVIT
• Liaising with Permits, Customer Service, Estimating, Interior Designers and Site Supervisors
• Liaising with Energy Assessors and Engineers
• Ensure accurate reporting with data and note entry
• Maintain communication of current workload with the Business Manager, Customer Service and other team members as required
• Preparation of Master Drawings

The successful candidate will have:

• A minimum 3 years experience in the residential building design
• A demonstrated high degree of skill and knowledge of designing, as well as use of REVIT
• Tertiary qualifications in Building Design, Architecture
• A good understanding of new home construction
• Strong knowledge of ResCode, Small Lot Housing Code, industry policies, standards and codes of practice.
• Organisational skills and attention to detail
• Superior communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Confident and ability to work within a team
• Self-motivated professional who is hard working and willing to work autonomously
